Our mission is to bring people together through food, inspire families and friends to get into the kitchen, and create long-lasting memories!
Chef Mike’s passion for all things food started at a young age. Growing up in a house rich with Latin ancestry, some of Mike’s fondest memories are of times spent in the kitchen with his mom and grandma. Family gatherings always revolved around food, cooking, drinks and lively conversation.
Mike began his career in the culinary industry apprenticing with some of Chicago’s most talented chefs, including John Manion, head chef and owner of El Che Bar and La Sirena Clandestina – two of Chicago’s hottest restaurants. Eventually, Mike turned his passion into his career and started Wine About Food. His main focus is getting people together with food and drinks, to inspire them to get in the kitchen and share in the joy of cooking.
Wine About Food and Chef Mike are passionate about bringing people together with food! We offer in-home cooking demonstrations or one-on one culinary coaching sessions. Sessions are fun, friendly, professional and always paired with a sampling of wine or a specialty cocktail. We pride ourselves by offering our clients custom designed menus, locally sourced organic meats and produce. Chef Mike is committed to expanding your culinary skills and food knowledge. Wine About Food can also accommodate kids & family cooking lessons, private parties and corporate events!
